Tips and Tricks on Buying Parfum and Top 3 Woman Perfumes

April 25, 2016
Hi lovelies, weekend is over and here comes Monday. Let's have a light chat to steer away our Monday blues! Are you a perfume person? What kind of smell do most of the girls and guys like? We don't want to chase away people around us by our smell, ain't we? Also, where do you usually buy your fragrances to ensure the originality?

I have quite a collection of perfume myself, but i feel like i always reach for the same fews every time. And i guess i just prefer fresh scents much more than others.

Here's some TIPS and TRICKS i discovered to help me making a better decision buying perfumes:

1. Go to Sephora or some stores that sells wide-variety of perfumes

Doing so, you can try out as many perfumes from different brands and compare them.

2. Always spray on the paper and a lil on your own skin

Weirdly enough, the fact is some fragrances smell different on the paper than on people's skin. So
we want to make sure we love it before we spend our money. Perfume nowadays are NOT CHEAP!

3. DO NOT rush to buy one after smelling it once!

Girls are like 'OMG, i love this, i want it and i need it!' but then after you take it home 'it's just
alright, i don't know why i bought it last time, i didn't really love it!'
Believe me girls, I have been there so many times, especially when there is perfume sales. I would
go crazy like i need 10 litres of perfumes. I cringe! But now i finally learned my lesson.

Advice is: Try the perfumes at least on several visits to Sephora before really deciding whether you
love the scent! and by doing so, you can also test out the longevity. Win-win!

4. Buy Perfumes at DUTY FREE

If you are travelling, DUTY FREE is a great place to buy perfumes, because it is normally slightly
cheaper due to no-tax charges. They also have all the perfumes you can find on the market!

My Top 3 Hand-Picked Perfumes:

1.  Miracle by Lancôme

This is a classic perfume, first launched in 2000. This is exactly the 'fresh' scent that i like, it's not too sweet, yet smells so elegant, feminine but not overwhelming. I would definitely wear this to casual and formal occasions, even to a date.

The idea behind this perfume is to represent joyful, empowering and inspiring woman. The sensuality comes from freesia, balanced with the warm amber and musk.

Top Notes: Lychee Fruit, Freesia
Heart Notes: Magnolia, Ginger and Pepper
Base Notes: Amber, Jasmine, Musk

2. Chloé Eau de Parfum

This parfum is one of the bestsellers in Sephora and duty-free. I quite get it why so many girls love it. The scent is quite special; light, airy, seductive, elegant, and daring at the same time. It also smells a lil powdery resembles roses.

There are times when i encounter girls who wear this and i immediately could recognise its scent. Because there's no exact duplicate of this. And i love its simple packaging with a bow which symbolises innocence, elegance and chicness.

Notes:

Top: Pink Peony, Freesia, Lychee
Middle: Magnolia Flower, Lily of the Valley, Rose
Base: Cedarwood, Amber, Honey.

3. Omnia Amethyste by Blvgari

This is the lightest perfume compared to the two before. It smells so innocent and fresh like baby powder to me, so comfortable and fresh. I will use this perfume when i want to smell light, clean and effortless. It is just that direct and non-pretentious scent that i love.

Inspired by the amethyst gemstone, this perfume captures the floral of iris and bulgarian rose caressed with morning dew.

Top Notes: Green Sap and Pink Grapefruit
Heart Notes: Iris Flower and Bulgarian Rosebud
Base Notes: Heliotrope and Solar Wood

Happy week ahead, guys!
XOXO
